NeuroCare Beginnings by The NeuroCare Team

Neuro-Care-Banner

With the guidance of Dr. Mark Palmieri, Nichole Collins helped CCSN to launch NeuroCare services for the first time in the Spring of 2021. That’s right! We started this work when the world had its doors largely closed to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Alongside Drs. Felicia Morgan and Kristen Powers, the brainstorming and work began to organize how to be helpful to adults and families wanting supports in the State of CT in the areas of acquired brain injury (ABI) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

CCSN has consulted to the State of CT ASD waiver for several years and decided to move into a full-service line with the start of supports with the ABI waiver. Since this launch we have added adult and teen social groups and are now providers on the ASD waiver. We have begun connecting with people in a variety of realms that believe our services may be able to help them live richer and more fulfilling lives.

We’d love for you to meet our core team: Nichole Collins, Felicia Morgan, Kristen Powers, and Kaitlin Scanlon

Nichole Collins is the Program Director of the service line and has supported neurodivergent individuals for the majority of her career. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has recently completed her Ph.D. program in Organizational Leadership this summer. Nichole enjoys working with individuals to help them set and achieve goals of their own as well as with organizations to help improve diversity, support, and understanding for people with neurodivergent profiles. She loves to see how different brains work and how we can all learn from these differences.

Felicia Morgan is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has supported individuals with neurodivergent profiles for over 30 years and particularly enjoys working with teens, transition-age youth, and adults. She appreciates the adult perspective and utilizing a person-centered approach to helping individuals achieve their life vision and goals.

Kristen Powers is an Occupational Therapist and the Rehabilitation Coordinator at CCSN. With her background in occupational therapy, Kristen supports engagement in meaningful life roles and activities, facilitating individuals in their return to previous roles and activities, or identifying and developing new ones.

Kaitlin Scanlon is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst providing services to individuals who have acquired brain injury and autism spectrum disorder. Kaitlin enjoys when individuals are achieving and sustaining goals that are person centered. At the end of the day, she enjoys how interesting each person is and how their expereinces job keeps her on her toes.
