Karolina Lipka, MS - Marriage and Family Therapist
Karolina Lipka is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who offers thoughtful, individualized psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, trauma, relationship difficulties, and the transitions and challenges that can reshape a family or sense of self.
Karolina’s approach begins with curiosity and compassion. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she seeks to understand the person beneath them—their experiences, relationships, strengths, and the patterns that have developed over time. She believes that therapy can offer a space to slow down, gain perspective, and begin to understand oneself and one’s relationships in new ways.
Drawing from a systemic and relational perspective, Karolina considers the larger context of a client’s life and the ways family relationships, developmental experiences, and surrounding environments can influence emotional well-being. She works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may no longer be serving them, build emotional awareness and regulation, and develop healthier and more connected ways of relating to themselves and others.
Her work with families is grounded in the belief that change within one relationship can create meaningful change throughout an entire family system. Karolina supports parents and caregivers in better understanding their child’s emotional and behavioral needs while helping families develop greater confidence, connection, and flexibility in how they respond to one another.
Karolina brings a breadth of clinical experience spanning outpatient therapy, home-based services, schools, community programs, and psychiatric residential treatment. These experiences have given her a nuanced understanding of the complexities that can exist when emotional, developmental, behavioral, and family concerns intersect. She is particularly attuned to helping clients and families navigate systems of care and finding practical, compassionate ways forward when traditional approaches have not been enough.
Karolina holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. She is trained in EMDR, Circle of Security, and Trauma-Focused Therapy and integrates a range of therapeutic approaches according to each client’s needs and goals.
Ultimately, Karolina sees therapy as a collaborative process of making sense of what has been, understanding what is happening now, and creating space for something different. Her goal is to help clients feel more grounded in themselves, more connected in their relationships, and more confident in navigating the life in front of them.
