The Center for Children with Special Needs’ Planned 2022 Expansion into Farmington, CT

CCSN: The Center for Children with Special Needs is excited to announce its expansion into Farmington in the Spring of 2022. CCSN, currently based in Glastonbury, CT, has been providing educational consultation, evaluation, and treatment services supporting individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders, across the lifespan. Opening a new location in Farmington will provide expanded access to patients and families in the Farmington Valley in addition to the families that we currently serve out of our Glastonbury offices.

At the Farmington location, CCSN will provide insurance-eligible outpatient services including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment, Outpatient Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Social Skills Groups.

“Since opening our doors in 1994, CCSN has had a constant drive to deliver the best evidence-based care to individuals, families, and their supporting communities” said CCSN’s founder and Executive Director, Dr. Michael Powers. “After hearing from our patients, families, and educational partners in the community, we felt that increasing access to CCSN services to families in the Farmington Valley and to points further west would be welcomed.”

CCSN’s new office will be located at The Exchange at 270 Farmington Avenue and is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2022. The space will include individual and group treatment spaces, consultation offices, expanded clinical space for Occupational and Speech Therapy, and an indoor play area.

“We have long supported patients, families, and educational partners in in the Farmington Valley as well as Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, Tolland, and New Haven Counties and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand into this community and strengthen those ties.” Shared Dr. Mark Palmieri, CCSN’s Co-Director overseeing all clinical services. “CCSN’s dedication to exceptional clinical care and familysystem support will enable us to serve this community for years to come.” Seth Powers, CCSN’s Co-Director overseeing business and operational services noted, “we work with unparalleled focus to ensure CCSN is a care destination for patients and families, and a career destination for clinical and administrative team members. CCSN’s emphasis on operational excellence will continue to position our clinical teams to provide best-in-class clinical service and support to those under our care.”

“Watching the growth and evolution of CCSN for the past almost-30 years has been profoundly professionally rewarding, and seeing patients who we diagnosed as toddlers now living fulfilling, meaningful adult lives is an important reminder of why we do what we do.” said Dr. Michael Powers.

“This expansion into Farmington is another exciting step of CCSN’s journey, and I am grateful to be part of an organization that will continue to support patients and families for the next 30 years.”
