Madison Reichel (she/her), who goes by Maddy, is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist at the Center for Children with Special Needs (CCCSN). Maddy received her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Following her graduation, Maddy went on to work with young autistic learners in a preschool readiness program, and it was in this role that she was exposed to multimodal communicators, assistive technology, and kids with overall complex communication needs.
Maddy completed her master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder. She currently holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Prior to joining the CCSN team, Maddy completed her clinical fellowship year at a separate special education school for students with severe and profound behavior support needs. Through her education and previous clinical experiences, Maddy has gained core knowledge regarding child development, language and communication disorders, as well as assessment selection and administration, and development of treatment plans with meaningful, attainable goals.
Speech sessions with Maddy are child led, and her core values of neurodiversity affirming practice, supporting autonomy, and client dignity are always upheld. Maddy’s current areas of expertise in the field of speech language pathology are Gestalt Language Processing, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and supporting those with high support needs on their communication journeys. Outside of work, Maddy enjoys spending time with her cat, Roxanne, going on long walks, and chatting with friends and family.
