Solandy Forte, Ph.D., LCSW, LBA, BCBA-D

Dr. Solandy Forte is the Assistant Director of Consultative Services at CCSN: Center for Independence. She is a Doctoral Level Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a Licensed Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut who provides consultative services to children with complex learning needs in the school and community settings. Dr. Forte also assists with program development initiatives that promote building capacity within schools for educating complex learners within the least restrictive educational setting in Connecticut and internationally. In addition to school-based consultation activities, she has provided in home behavioral services and intensive parent training to families across the state through the Department of Children and Families for over 10 years. Dr. Forte has extensive experience navigating through cultural barriers when working with families. She has worked with professionals to problem solve through challenges pertaining to language barriers, cultural values, and building positive working relationships with families.

Previously Dr. Forte has worked at the Connecticut Center for Child Development as an Associate Behavior Analyst developing academic and behavior programs for children with autism and related neuro-developmental disorders. She also has worked at the Institute of Professional Practice, Inc., as a clinical coordinator in the Professional Parenting program where she provided parent training, staff training, social skills training, and in-home behavior analytic services to children with a wide range of developmental disabilities, mental illness, autism, and related disorders living in therapeutic foster homes.

Dr. Forte received her Masters Degree in Social Work and obtained a Certificate for Specialization in Children and Families from Fordham University. She also received her Doctorate Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Endicott College. Dr. Forte is an adjunct professor for the Institute of Autism and Behavioral Studies at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut and Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. She has presented nationally on topics related to behavioral assessment, treatment, consultation, program development, staff training, and navigating through cultural barriers. Dr. Forte has published in the journal Behavior Analysis in Practice, Encyclopedia of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Handbook of Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders. She is an active member of local organizations passionately advocating for the advancement of the behavior analytic profession through her role as a board member of the Behavior Analyst Leadership Council and as a member of the Connecticut Association for Behavior Analysis and the National Association of Social Workers.
